RESEARCH STUDIES

Formulated for your body. Validated by research.

Since 2010, we’ve set out to formulate the most comprehensive and effective Foundational Nutrition supplement.

Our driving belief? High-quality ingredients combined with healthy gut function could improve the body’s ability to absorb and actually use essential nutrients.

RESEARCH TIMELINE

Setting a new standard in research

Our in-house team of doctors, scientists, and researchers worked with third-party experts to conduct a set of scientific studies and further validate the benefits of AG1. We followed a universally acknowledged hierarchy of scientific rigor, looking beyond ingredient data to test our complete formula and validate the synergy of how ingredients work together.

01 — CLINICAL TRIAL RESULTS
Clinical Trial
A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial. We monitored 30 healthy adults ages 21-49 over 1 month, measuring the digestive impact of AG1 through stool samples. Research was conducted with a third-party expert to validate and mitigate bias.

AG1 was shown to enrich the gut microbiome, more than doubling the levels of healthy bacteria known to bolster digestion.¹*

increase in healthy bacteria in the gut.¹

WHY THIS MATTERS
These healthy bacteria work together to break down food and are known to alleviate bloating, promote digestive regularity, and aid in digestive comfort long term.*

1 In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial assessing 30 healthy adults ages 21-49 over the course of 1 month.

02 — IN VITRO STUDY RESULTS
SHIME In Vitro Study
(Simulator of the Human Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem) A simulation of the human gastrointestinal tract, used to study the effects of AG1 on the gut in a controlled, highly reliable laboratory environment.

AG1 was shown to improve key markers of gut health, which helps power the body to make the most of the nutrients it consumes.¹*

increase in short-chain fatty acid production.¹

WHY IT MATTERS
SCFAs are the superheroes of the gut. They provide energy to the cells in the digestive system and help keep the gut lining healthy. A strong gut lining plays a significant role in nutrient absorption and immune function.

1 In an in vitro study conducted on 3 stool donors using a simulated model of the digestive tract in a controlled, laboratory design, AG1 was shown to improve indicators of gut health.

increase in serotonin production in the gut.¹

WHY IT MATTERS
When serotonin is produced in the gut, it helps move nutrients through the digestive tract and alleviate occasional constipation.*

1 In an in vitro study conducted on 3 stool donors using a simulated model of the digestive tract in a controlled, laboratory design, AG1 was shown to improve indicators of gut health.

The powder form of AG1 was seen to digest faster than a multivitamin tablet, enabling better access to nutrients.¹*

more minerals available for absorption vs. a multivitamin tablet.¹

WHY THIS MATTERS
Adequate nutrient levels are needed to deliver their intended benefits. The more accessible a nutrient is to the digestive tract, the easier it is for absorption.

1 In an in vitro study that compared AG1 powder to a multivitamin tablet using a simulated model of the digestive tract (SHIME).

03 — OBSERVATIONAL STUDY RESULTS
Observational Study
A single-arm study conducted with 35 healthy adults ages 25-48. We measured how participants reported feeling and behaving in different increments over the course of 3 months, and validated the data with a third-party clinical research organization to mitigate bias.

With regular use over 3 months, AG1 was seen to positively impact feelings of calm, energy, and improved digestion.¹

WHY IT MATTERS
Internal changes aren't always felt. By giving your body the routine nutrients it needs, you’re able to experience benefits that build each day.*

1 In a single-arm observational study conducted on 35 healthy adults ages 25-48 assessing the self-perceived efficacy of AG1 over 3 months.

“We intentionally designed AG1 to deliver a diverse spectrum of essential daily nutrients with pre and probiotics to support the gut, in a powder form that’s easier for your body to digest than a tablet.”*

FAQs

What is a SHIME model?

The SHIME model, which stands for Simulator of the Human Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem, is an in vitro model used in research to study the human gastrointestinal tract. It consists of a series of interconnected sections, called bioreactors, that mimic the physiological and biological conditions found in the human gut, including the stomach, small intestine, and colon.
